JUST A REMINDER THAT ALL SCOUTS MUST BRING CLOTHES TO WEAR WHILE THEY TIE DYE A NECKERCHIEF THIS SUMMER

ALSO CHECK IN PROCEDURES HAVE CHANGED SINCE THE LEADERS MEETING.  PLEASE CHECK BELOW FOR AN UPDATE!

Akelaland Cub Scout Resident Camp

Nestled in the Pocono Mountains, Akelaland is a Cub Scout Resident Camp that offers programs for Scouts from Tiger Cubs through Webelos II.  Our camp includes overnight experiences that include special weekends, a four day mini-week, and full week camping.   We offer three levels of programming that are designed to meet all Scouts needs for fun, excitement in the outdoors, and advancement in Scouting.

Akelaland boasts a full service Dining Facility that was expanded in 2007, BB & Archery Ranges, a BRAND NEW SWIMMING POOL!!!, two lakes, private shower facilities, flush toilets and running water available throughout the camp.

Ready to Check in to Camp?

With the addition of the pool to our camp, all of our check in procedures have changed.  Just a reminder that your unit may begin moving in supplies to your site at anytime AFTER 11:00 AM.  If you move in earlier, we will still be setting up, and might just be very GRUMPY.  We smile after 11:00 am only (just kidding, but it makes it impossible for us to move tents and cots and clean bathrooms while people are already moving into a tent we're moving and using a bathroom we're trying to clean...).  There are two different ways we will handle check in based on the weather.

Starting with Week 2 Registration will be back at the Parade Field Porch of the Dining Hall.  Check in at your assigned time (see below).  Bring with you a completed roster, money for any fees owed, barbeque ticket and picture money, completed buddy tags, health forms, all medications, and all of your Scouts who are dressed in either costumes or uniforms with their swim trunks underneath.  You'll first send one leader with a roster and any money to the registration table to check in with Foof.  Then your unit will get their picture taken in the field.  You'll complete medical checks at the health office.  Then your unit should go to the dining hall for Dining Hall orientation.  After Dining Hall Orientation, your pack can head down to the pool for swim tests.  Send your waiters to the dining hall at 5:45 pm. Waiters will miss colors.

Check in times for the entire summer are available by clicking here.

Special Request for Graces

A number of leaders have asked for the text of our camp graces, so they can practice them before hand... so here they are!  And by the way, they are certainly not unique to our camp, and the original texts date back to the 18th century!

Breakfast Grace

Gracious giver of all good, thee we thank for rest and food.  Grant that all we do or say, in thy service be this day.

Noonday Grace

Father for this noonday meal, we would speak the praise we feel.  Health and strength we have from thee, help us Lord to friendly be.

Evening Grace

Tireless Guardian on our way, Thou hast kept us well this day.  While we thank Thee we request, care continued, pardon, rest.

Last Year's Photo Galleries are Still Available

Your Cubmaster will receive information regarding how to access our password protected galleries when your unit checks in at camp.  Our staff will do our best to upload pictures of our week throughout your stay at camp.  You can follow the links to the galleries here
