Akelaland 2011

Prior To Camp

1) Organize who is going as soon as you are able.  Units who pay in advance can qualify for discounted fees (see the leaders guide).  Before you come to camp, complete your roster in our excel spreadsheet and email it to akelaland@yahoo.com.

2) Make sure that all of your Scouts and Leaders get a physical and have a complete BSA health form.  All Scouts and Leaders need a physical from the last 12 months.  Anyone without a physical will be sent home.  Make certain that parents sign their child's physical.

3) Make certain that all adults staying with your unit complete the online Youth Protection Training.  Adults may not stay at camp without completing this training.  Review our camp Leadership Guidelines that provide specifics on applying Youth Protection to our camp.

4) You may want to consider completing your swim tests prior to your arrival.  To complete swim tests, they must be overseen by a person who holds a BSA lifeguard or Red Cross Lifeguard certificate.  You may either submit a letter from this person that includes the results of their testing and the certificate they hold, or you may use this simple roster form.

5) Consider sharing the Parent & Leader quick guides with the appropriate adults.

6) Have parents of Full Week Webelos II's who wish to participate in Pioneer Camp complete the additional form.

6) Check our website for updates and changes just prior to leaving for camp!
