Safety is our Number 1 Priority! The experiences a Cub Scout has with camping, will shape their views for the rest of their life! We take the responsibility of providing a safe and positive experience for your child extremely seriously. Our camp is a BSA Nationally Accredited Camp and has received the top rating for Accreditation visitation annually for many years. During your child's stay they either camp with
parents, or with leaders from your unit that you know and trust.
All leaders in the Boy Scouts are subjected to background checks.
Additionally, all adults in
All of our staff are heavily trained. Most adult staff members in our camp have five or more years of experience with our camp, and nearly every adult staff member in our camp holds a National Camp School Certification (or two or three!). All of the top leadership in our camp are certified as professional educators within the state of Pennsylvania. Between staff and leaders, our camp averages one adult in camp for every two Scouts. All of our staff are coached in first aid and CPR.
Most staff hold Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid and
CPR. Several staff have been trained as EMTs or First Responders.
Our camp has a complete health lodge and we are prepared for serious
emergencies with oxygen and AED support always ready. Our camp and aquatics area is also a Lifeguard training facility. Our camp trains and certifies aquatics staff members as BSA Lifeguards, a rigorous lifeguarding program that specializes in the additional safety requirements of a Boy Scout Camp. The Boy Scouts of America has always been a leader in aquatics safety, and nationwide aquatics accidents at Boy Scout Camps are extremely rare. For more information on the extensive aquatics safety program, see the water safety page.
