Our Directors

James "Foof" Feuerstein, Camp Director, is back for his eighth year as camp director.  With fourteen previous summers on staff at Akelaland, James is the longest running staff member in our camp's history.  When he's not at camp, James is a Gifted Education Teacher in the Pocono Mountain School District.  He holds a B.A. in History and Elementary Education from Eastern University, a Ms.Ed. from Wilkes University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Development at Marywood University.

Jonathan Frantz, Program Director, is back for his ninth year at Akelaland.  Before serving as Program Director, Jon served as Nature Director and Outdoor Skills Center Director.  He recently graduated with a BS.Ed from Slippery Rock University in Environmental and Elementary Education.
